We have launched 40 vehicles (4-car set x 10 units) of 8520 series EMU
based on 8500 & 8510 series for Irish Rail. Since our first delivery
of 2600 series DMU in 1993, we have delivered 105 vehicles to Irish
Rail.
Due to the common operation with existing 8500 & 8510 series,
the performance of 8520 series performance is compatible with the
existing vehicles, and suitable for one-person operation. The common
standards in Europe, such as EN, BS, UIC, RVAR are applied, and CE
certification has been obtained.
As a remarkable change from 8510
series, HVAC units (heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning) have
been equipped in order to improve service quality for passenger.
The 8520
series EMU is our consecutive third award of contract from Irish Rail,
and the latest model of EMU to Ireland. We hope and trust that our 8500
series EMU (8500,8510 and new 8520) will continuously perform their
capacity and provide the key roll in Dubliners transport for the future.
