Shinkansen type E2-1000 series
The latest Shinkansen type E2-1000 improves type E2's specification, and takes in double-skin carbody and the latest technology while limiting to run in Tohoku/Joetsu Shinkansen by making power supply frequency only into for 50Hz. Therefore, since power supply frequency differs, type E2 (minor change version) can not run in Nagano Shinkansen (from Takasaki to Nagano). Type E2 (minor change version) can run not only as single train but also as train of coupling with smaller type E3 train for through into local lines like type E2. 

In order to suppress the vehicles agitation at high-speed running, the world's first full-active suspension has been adopted as both head vehicles and the first-class coach as high-speed operating vehicles, and the semi-active suspension has been took into other vehicles. A full-active suspension is the system, which detects the shake of the right-and-left direction by the sensor, moves the actuator in a cart by compressed air, and suppresses a shake compulsorily. As a result, improvement of comfortably is realized by the synergistic effect by adoption of the damper between the bodies.
